How To Treat The Low Grade Fever With UTI Symptoms?

My normal temperature runs about 96.8 to 97. So when the thermometer says 98.6 it usually means I am sick and happens when I really am sick only. I now have a fever of 99 with uti symptoms for about 3 days. I'm waiting for a call back from my primary. I'm pretty sure she won't consider the 99 anything other than a very low grade fever. I run in to this consistently with all doctors. What should I tell them?

Hello,

You can take Tylenol available over the counter to control fever. If the urine result comes back positive for infection antibiotics needs to be initiated under doctor's guidance. Usually, antibiotics like nitrofurantoin are preferred for UTI.

Hope this answers your query
