Hi I m 31 years female I got fever around 13 Aug , so I took antibiotics and my fever was 98.9. so I started going to Office. But the fever didn t come down to normal I got typhoid test done though my fever is between 99-100 and no pains or other symptoms. What medicine should I take and after how long will I recover and exercise
The common cause of fever are viruses and you need only symptomatic treatment. Antibiotics are not needed for viral fever. You have to take antipyretics like paracetamol and take plenty of fluids and rest, that should be enough. Viral fever usually lasts for 5 to 7 days. If the fever lasts longer than a week than you should go for few investigations like Complete blood picture, ps for MP, typhoid should be ruled out. So I advise you to see a doctor if fever persists.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
