Hi, my sister has been diagnoses with pcos and thinks I possibly have the same thing. I have been taking the depo injection for 14 years because I had problems with cramping etc when I was on the pill. I am 31 years old I have been overweight the last 12 years & can never seem to lose more than 5 or 6 kilos. At my doctors advice I took a break from depo for a year & in that time I noticed bad stomach cramps, I had the worst acne of my life (I never even had bad acne as a teenager) I have had extra hair growth on my face/stomach/nipples & forearms & I have also noticed that I have a strange odor in my room every morning when I wake up. I have been back on the depo injection for 7 months now & my skin has cleared up, stomach pains are gone but still have the hair growth & weird smell. also I have developed maigraines for the first time in my life & rarely does a day pass where I don't have even a dull headache. I drink a minimum of 2 litres of water a day & usually get in a 45 minute walk 4 times a week. My diet isn't perfect but it's not particularly bad either. I have a great job which rarely causes stress & I get between 6 - 8 hours sleep anight. Any ideas?
