How To Treat Throat Soreness And Diarrhea While Having Acid Reflux?

My son has severe allergies, he has no tonsils and his throat is very sore. it hurts to swallow water and food. Before discovering allergies he was diagnosed with Acid reflux as well as some allergies. He has had diarrhea for a few days and throat ache a couple. He has low grade fever. He has started many medicines while waiting to go on allergy shots. Not sure what to do with him. Our doctors have not called back.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of throat soreness and diarrhea while having acid reflux seems to be due to gastroesophageal reflux disease. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take few preventive measures such as raise bed level on head side. I would suggest you to avoid spicy and heavy meal specially at night . Eat at least one hour before going to bet , take a light walk for 15-20 mins after every meal. You should take antacid after every meal like gelusil. Take combination of proton pump inhibitors along with antacids such as ranitidine, omeprazole. Visit ENT specialist once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get it examined.
