i am taking wysolone(10) daily for past 12 years as per doctor's advice. From last two years, i am suffering from thyroid and taking thyronorm and doing regular hard exercise, but my body weight is still increasing and also not feeling well. Please advise
I read carefully your concern and understood your query.
The treatment with steroids for many years of course has many side effects and one of these is iatrogjenic Cushing syndrome that is manifested with wait gain, high blood pressure, high glucose levels, osteoporisis ect.
Normally you should be under close medical supervision in order to diagnose and treat these side effects and modify the dose of prednisone if possible.
Regarding to the thyroid, it is not supposed to cause side effects as long as the dose of the synthroid is correct and the thyroid hormonal level is within the normal ranges.
So i would advice a detailed physical examination and laboratory exams as prescribed by your doctor.
Wish you good health, Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta Guni
