How To Treat Tightness In Earlobe Caused After Piercing In Infants?
Dear Doctor,I have got my baby ear pierced through Gun shot. It been 2 weeks now and some times the ear ring holds tightly to the pierced hole unable to rotate. Is there any ointment or gel which can be used to treat this. Baby is 11 months old. Thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter had ear piercing and now its is getting tight sometimes . Well this is very common problem . This occur due to two probable reasons :-
- Firstly it can be due ti infection at piercing site due to contaminated instrument .
- Secondly it occur due to allergic reaction de to particular metal of ear piece .
I would suggest you to apply moisturizer rwice a day , take off ear piece for few days , wear other ear piece with other metal and take antihistamine like benadryl . If condition doesn't get improve then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment and antibiotics .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
