How To Treat Tricuspid Valve Which Is Not Closing In A Fetus?
hi i am 35 weeks pregnate and have just been told that my babies tricuspid valve is not closing properly so the blood is flowing into the heart but than in the next pump it is opening again and letting blood back out into the body.I was told that it is only a small leak but i am now really worried as i was told that the baby will need to be monitored as soon as it is born and that it will need oxygen. i was not really explained much what will this mean for my baby will it survive
During fetal life, pulmonary pressure always raised. In most of the cases, it improves rapidly after birth, didn't require any support, in some cases oxygen support required for few time, also some baby require injectable medication to improve. It needs fetal 2d echo report to categorize the disease of the child.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
