Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Since two weeks I was having pain when passing urine. After a full urine report was taken I was diagnosed to have a urine infection and was prescribed Norofloxine for 7 days twice daily by my doctor. Today is the 7th day. On day 3 lesions appeared on the head of my penis, some were painful and now they appear to be receding. On day 6 I took a VDRL test , the report of which says "Non-Reactive". What is my present condition? Should I go for further medication? Thank you.
Hi thanks for asking question. Here you have UTI along with lesion over penis head. Besides syphilis possibility of chancroid has to be considered. Just now you have to take broad spectrum antibiotic like cefixime to cover up all infection. For UTI management take adequate water, fruit juices. Cranberry juice helpful.Avoid spicy food. If severe fever is present iv antibiotic has to be started. Just now with theses measures if you are not getting well then detailed further work up with detailed history is needed. I hope my suggestion will help you.thanks
