Hi Doctor, My uncle who is staying with me has a problem of vercosvein. He has undergone operation before 8 years. Now he is again bleeding. He is having a alergy on leg which spreads all over the leg. The skin is often peeling in the infected area. His legs has been swelling. He has no diabeties, no blood pressure. What is the relief and the treatment for this disease?
At present He can start using graded compression by applying stockings over leg or can use medically available multilayer bandage for varicose vein... avoid standind still for long time..... limb elevation above heart level while sleeping at night...
Mean while venous color doppler to evalute the status of varicose veins.... and treatment can be plan accordingly....
Available options for treatment would be open surgery or minimal invasive surgery using laser or sclerosing agents...or many others...
