How To Treat Weight Loss While Having Elevated Thyroid Level?

my 19 year old son began to loose weight even though he had a healthy apetite. Was cold all the time, and had an episode of chest hearting..took to ER.Then his doctor checked blood levels and said his thyroid was elevated. The endroconolgist gave him leothyroxine, and he has lost 4 more lbs in one mth since starting medication.Seems like this is the wrong medication....what do you say................sorry.thought this was a free service.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern here you have not mentioned the wright of your son because some time even after the normal weight patients ask for either increase the weight or reduce the weight, so taking this point in mind I would say that the weight of your son would be normal, and no need to think about the weight, in thyroid dysfunction the pharmacological effects comes little late, take care and have a nice day.
