Hello,
You are suffering from white and
red blisters on the uvula and at the back of the throat. Your mouth is sore and has a film covering the mouth. It also hurts to eat. Your symptoms are indicative of uveitis that is commonly caused by infection, allergy, GERD,
dehydration, etc. STDs, such as
gonorrhea and syphilis, could cause your uvula to become swollen.
Poor hydration, environmental irritants, smoking tobacco or inhaling certain chemical substances may cause the inflammation and discomfort. You are suggested to get
allergy tests, throat cultures, blood tests, STD tests, etc., done to detect the cause so that treatment can be started at the earliest.
You can take antihistamines, to reduce the inflammation and soreness. Get clinically examined, you will need to take a course of antibiotics. In case of severe inflammation, your treating doctor can prescribe
corticosteroids. Stay well hydrated, take adequate water and fluids. Keep throat lozenges, stay at rest, take liquid or semi solid diet.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
