Hi Doc I have some white patches on my face which I think is caused by rain and beach water.I tried washing it with Dettol.I have been applying aloe-vera and neem lotion. Is it going to help?Pl help and mention the name of any lotion you would like to prescribe.
White patches on the skin commonly occurs due to diet insufficiency. You should take nutritious & balanced home made food rich in calcium, vitamin E and D. Take ginger juice and stay well hydrated. You can apply Vitamin E ointment on the area affected regularly. Avoid exposure to sunlight. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a dermatologist so that few tests can be done, you may need oral medications. Treatment with ultraviolet light therapy, photo therapy or laser treatment is quite effective.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
