How To Unplug The Ears Despite Taking Hydrocortisone And Neomycin?

The doctor gave me neomycin and polymyxin B sulfates and hydrocortisone otic solution its called. there ear drops. I went to the clinic because I thought i had an ear infection it was pounding and pothering me all night a few days ago. I also had a cold at the time and I thought it could of related to that also. I went it and they said it was not an ear infection and doesnt have to do with my cold. it was just a lot of ear wax so they have me the drops to stop swelling and to unplug it. it started to work but its plugging again and i still have a cold. I tried mixing peroxide and water to see if it would help beacuse it also helps to remove wax but now its worse and itchy and thats how it started before it got really bad. what should i do

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of ear plugging despite using Hydrocortisone and Neomycin. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order certain test like audiometry, low and high pitched ringing, and Ct scan to find out exact cause for your condition and can start treatment accordingly. You should put wax dissolving ear drops. You should maintain proper hygiene of ear canal and avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object. You should apply warm compresses and take a proper course of antibiotics to subside infection.
