Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am one month pregnant and would like to terminate it using arthrotec available to me under the name artotec. I used 4 tablets under the tongue each three hours until I had 12 tablets. However I threw up each time after the tablets dissolved. I had light cramping and a small amount of blood. I don t think the abortion took place. Is there a way to insert artotec tablets vaginally? Or swallow them with water?
Though Arthotec has Misoprostol which can induce abortion but, it also have painkiller along with it and taking 12 of them is an overdose. Also, that it can cause abortion with retained products inside and may need Dilation and curettage procedure so you shouldn't do it without a gynecologist supervision and you should get a review after this event as soon as possible.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
