How To Use Optrex Eye Wash For Puffy Eyes?

Hi there, I got up this morning with my right eye slightly puffy but read and slightly crusty. It appears that I forgot to remove my mascara and robbed my eye during my sleep. It s been red and puffy all day and just slightly irritated...not itchy. I bought Optrex Eye Wash based on the Pharamacist s suggestion but I am not sure if this is sufficient. He did not provide any advice on frequency of washes or how long I should wait before my eye looks normal again. It is a bit smaller than my left eye and red still but no visual issues. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks! K.

Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

It's my pleasure to help you through your bad times. I have completely gone through your problem and understand your health concerns.

You don't need to use Optrex drops. They are not supposed to be used in such cases as you have right now. It is an inflammatory condition os the eye and is very common due to make up remnants over the night in eye, causing irritation and swelling, redness and sometimes pain too.

You need to apply Fluorometholone-Tetrahydrozoline eye drops in the affected eye. Take tablet Desloratadine by mouth for the itching and redness relief in a short time. It will take a couple of days for you to be all correct with this treatment. Wash your eye many times a day with fresh plain water.
Consult your ophthalmologist for the prescription of aforementioned medications and reinforcement of the decisions, as he is more trained for the treatment of eye disorders.

Hope it helps you in getting better. Have a nice time ahead. In future for any kind of medical assistance, feel free to contact me directly. Just write down my name as a reference in start of the question and I will get back to you in no time.

REGARDS!
