How To Wean Off Amlopin?

I takes amlopin m 25 mg at night since last six months due to b p 80 170 there are some problem for this drug like depression un easiness wrong thinkingness what can we do for this . I can stop this medicine slowly slowly ? please give me answer Thanks.

Hi,

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker used for reducing blood pressure can cause sleepiness or tiredness. The drug should not be stopped until the blood pressure is normalized. When the blood pressure is in the normal range, the dose of the drug can be reduced by 5mg at once. In case of persistent high values, alternate calcium channel blockers or drugs such as beta blockers can be used.Kindly do not stop the drug abruptly. It is essential to check your blood pressure once in 15 to 30 days.
