Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on suboxone for 4 years now. I tried to slow down but whenever i do i sweat, have anxiety, dizzy, and angry. I am trying not to go to rehab, and do it on my own. I have a 4 year old son that i am raising also. I quit cocaine cold turkey a long time ago. I feel if i can quit that i can quit this. What can i do to get off and stop the withdrawals. thanks
If you stop Suboxone abruptly, you will be likely to get withdrawal symptoms after around 5 to 6 days which can then last for around a week. I would suggest that you gradually bring it down before stopping completely. The problems you are facing in gradually tapering it off is probably because you are doing it too fast. Try going more slowly and give your body ample time to adjust to each dose before lowering further.
Best wishes.
