Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on 100 mg Zoloft and take 3mg of Xanax have been on these meds for over 24 yrs. I have been really depressed and have more anxiety. I want to cut the Xanax down. I have been slowly reducing Xanax. Is there anything in the way of vitamin I can take that can help?
Unfortunately though some vitamins may help to relieve depression and anxiety symptoms by a small amount, you may still need to add other medications.
If your current medications are not working for you, your doctor can change them to alternatives. There are other meds that may be more effective for you that you can try.
The vitamins that may have an impact are the b vitamins, tumeric, vitamin d, SAM-e. You can see if these have an effect for you.
Your doctor can determine if there is any interaction with any medications that you have.
I hope this helps
