Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am wanting to discontinue 30 mg of Cymbalta that I have taken daily for less than one year. Would just taking it every other day be a way to stop? My physician is aware I am trying to stop it. I am just nervous about withdrawl of it. I have been taking it for neuropathy of my feet which was caused by Cipro.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You are right SSRI can have withdrawal effects, if suddenly stopped, however it is less with Cymbalta, still the dose should be reduced in 1 to 2 weeks, so you can reduce it for one week, then half for another week then you can stop it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
