Hi,

I understand your desire to quit Effexor. You need to provide more details about why you were prescribed Effexor as it is used for both neurogenic pain and depression. Tapering down medication prevents or lessens the withdrawal symptoms that are most likely to happen if the medication is suddenly stopped. As per your description, you have given a sufficient amount of time to taper down the medication.

I would recommend that you give it at least a week or two more without medication and those headaches and pain will go away if you experienced them because of withdrawal from Effexor. If they continue and if you were prescribed Effexor for neurogenic pain, then it might be that you are having those symptoms because you are taking nothing to treat it (Effexor.)

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saralkumar R. Desai,
