I have taken180 mg eglonyl to increase lactation- recommend by gynae . 8 mths later have stopped lactation . Gynae said to take 1 tablet. I have severe withdrawal- dizzy, severe depression- so low I cannot get out of it- 1week now . How do I wean myself off eglonyl? Yesterday I took 40 mg Lilly fluoxetine . I need help
In fact, yes, you are right these drugs do develop dependence and suddenly stopping them may cause many withdrawal symptoms. We generally recommend not to stop the drug suddenly.
Rather reduce the dose every 1 to 2 weeks till it is stopped in a few weeks. Withdrawal effects may occur up to 2 years but are less if slowly reduced.
