How Worried One Should Be For Fluid On Lungs, Around Heart?
my mother was recently admitted to the hospital and we have been told she has fluid on the lungs and around her heart. She has had several bladder infections, one every 4 months or so. She has had problems with low magnesium and potassium also. How worried should we be?
Hello Thanks for your query. You must be worried now. From your history it is clear that your mother has pleural effusion, pericardial effusion along with some kidney disease and all of which are inter-related. Kidney disease may be the initial primary problem which secondarily leads to the other problems. So your mother needs to be investigated in depth urgently. Consult a pulmonologist soon. Thank you.
