Hurt Arm While Skating. No Swelling. Should I Apply Heat Or Ice Or Need An X-ray?

I'm 39 and fell while roller skating. Landed on my outstretched right arm. Initially my wrist hurt. Pain went from wrist to elbow. Wrist is feeling better. I can move all my fingers (and type without much discomfort). Arm feels okay while bent, but I can't extend my arm without pain. Don't notice any real swelling. It's been about 1 1/2 hours since I injured it. Had ice on it initially. Do I continue to use ice or should I try heat and how do I know if I need to have it x-rayed?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Out stretched wrist is most prone to collis fracture or styloid fracture of radius or ulna.
Ice massage will provide relief and subsides swelling ( if any ) .
In my opinion get in an Xray of wrist and take anti inflammatory drugs .
However the best way is to consult an orthopedic surgeon and get his opinion.
Good luck.
