Hurt On Face. No Pain. Bruise And Swelling Gone Away. Dent On Upper Cheek Bone. Is This Permanent And X-rays Needed?
My son hit his face on something at school and it bruised really bad for about a week. He didn't complain about pain but now that the bruise and swelling has gone away ive noticed a dent in his upper cheek bone that was never there. He still hasn't been complaining of pain in any way so my main question would be... is this permanent? Could there be any other damage that i don't know about? Should we get xrays done?
Hi, From history it seems that this might be due to small hemorrhage under cheek and now encapsulated with fibrosis. There is less likely of having fracture of cheek bone as there is no pain at all. Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day. Give him one course of antibiotic any infection at all there might cover and help in resolving dent. Ok and take care.
