Hurt Right Groin Due To Accident, Trouble Walking, Low Appetite, Twisted Bone. Hernia Ruptured?
Hi I have a question My daughter. Had a bike accident two weeks ago and the handlebar hit her right groin in the same spot as a hernia repair 6 yrs ago. She's had trouble walking since then....however she's gotten worse. She has a high unbroken fever with very pale skin low appetite and dark yellowing of the groin and hip area now.....also cannot walk her hip is turned in. The hospital said it was a muscle twisted...should be better by now...right?? Wondering if symptoms presenting may mean her hernia might have ruptured
Hi,
It is unlikely that her hernia has ruptured. However, I would have expected her symptoms to have improved by now. Her persistent fever would suggest she has an infection. This may be related to the injury. It is possible that her muscles have been badly bruised with the impact of the accident and there is a hematoma in the muscle. This is a collection of blood. This may possibly have become infected which would cause her fever and generalised illness. This would be unusual but I would suggest that if she does not feel better in a couple of days to take her to your doctor for further assessment.
