Hypertension. On Beta Cap And Telma H For The Same. Should I Take Metformin And T. Glimpride?
I am 60 years of age. Hypertension patient for more than 6 years. i am on beta cap TR 40 mg and Telma H 40mg. I am using the BP apparatus Relion at home. It invariably shows my BP as 139/94. My recent blood tet for sugar monitoring Fasing is 129 and PP as 290. I am advised for T. Metformin 500mg BD and T.Glimpride 1mg. I want your opinion on these. B.Sundari

Good to see that your BP was under control with the medication and also hope for diabetic medications. You have be prescribed a good medication to control your blood sugar level. Check your fasting blood sugar for 3 days of taking medication and according doses can be increased or decreased.
In addition to the medication you have to change your life style which helps you in controlling both BP and Blood sugar.
Do regular exercise.
Reduce your weight if you are over weight.
Avoid alcohol and smoking.
Avoid all type of fatty. oily and sugary food
Use baked food as much as you can.
Keep you lipid profile in control.
