i am 44 yrs old....hypertensive with medication (losatan)....my blood sugar level rapidly decreases and create hypoglycemia ....i am non diabetic... fasting insulin level was 17.5mmol/l and correspoding fasting sugar was 5...HbA1ac was 5.8 ...today after lunch i was taking a nap and woke up within 2 hrs due to headache and after sometime i checkedmy sugar level wwhich was 2.8mmol...this is frequently happening...sugar goes down rapidly despite having meal

TAB. LOSARTAN MAY DECREASE THE BODY COUNTER REGULATARY HARMONAL RESPONSE TO HYPOGLYCEMIA WHICH EVEN WORSENS THE CONDITION. IT HAS ALSO GOT THE PROPERTIES TO LOWER THE BLOOD SUGARS TO SOME EXTENT INDEPENDENTLY. PLEASE RECORD THE BLOOD PRESSURE REGULARLY, LOOK FOR DIURINAL VARIATION. SINCE THERE IS NO HISTORY OF DIABETES, ONCE THE PATIENT STABILIZES YOU CAN CHANGE THE ANTIHYPERTENSIVE TABLET TO SOME OTHER GROUPS.
