Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I Have been having my right leg swell. It is about 2 inches bigger from thigh to ankle. I had a torn hamstring last April and rehabbed from that. But before that happened, my family doctor sent me to have ultrasound on leg because of the swelling. There was no heat and it did not hurt. No blood clot was found. I went back to my orthopedic doctor because the swelling did not resolve after the hamstring healed. I have had 2 MRI-one last Sept or Oct and one in early April on my right knee. I have a small meniscus tear and patella femoral stress syndrome and slight arthritis. He is stumped as to the swelling. I am wondering what my next step is. Should I see a vascular specialist. I am 64 years old and moderately active. I have not been walking because they suggest I hold off to see how the knee is. I have been taking 2 RX of meloxicam and will be done with that soon. It has not seemed to make the swelling any better. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks, Alice Rodkey
