Hi, You are right that pantoprazole is a medicine for stomach related problems. It lowers the acid production in the stomach and prevents the reflux of acid into the food pipe. However, your ENT doctor was not wrong in prescribing this medicine to you for cough. Many times, dry cough is caused by the irritation of the lining of the throat by acid reflux from the stomach. In such instances, cough responds to medicines like pantoprazole.
