Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 46 years old and have been in relative good health most of my life. However, I was diagnosed with asthma just a few years ago. I have been taking monekulast and asmanex inhaler for treatment. I have suffered with some degree or other with allergies most of my life the most severe being to cats. My symptoms when around cats when young were watery, itchy eyes and wheezing. I never took any sort of medication for any chronic illness when a child. I just recently was tested for allergies and was discovered to have allergies to most molds. I have started drop therapy. I don't exercise much due to fear of an asthma attack. I would really like to get back into exercising. My question is do I have a chance of my asthma going into "remission"? I have tried stopping my asmanex a few months ago but that didn't work. Now I have increased my daily inhalations to twice a day. I have been told by family and friends that I sound like a "dragon". My breathing is definitely noticed by those around me. Thank you for your attention to this.
