Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 53 years old and have has ADHD all of my life. I have never been on meds for it and It seems to have gotten worse through menopause. Is that something that can occur? Besides that, I am experiencing some slight short term memory loss (things do come to me within a minute or so) and have some slower processing issues than I did previous to being in my fifties. I also have slight word retrieval difficulties. Words come to me within 10-15 seconds vs. Right away at times. My gross motor is a bit off. I don't have perfect balance as I did and I tend to be clumsy- dropping things more than your average person. I have never taken drugs of any kind or drunk any more alcohol than an occasional glass of wine. I eat very healthy and exercise. My PCP, at regular physicals says I am a picture of health, but my husband is incredibly frustrated and angry because I don't seem to communicate as well as I used to. I wouldn't begin to know what type of specialist to see for these issues. Start with my PCP?
