I Am 63, Went Through Menopause At Age 45. I

I am 63, went through menopause at age 45. I am scheduled for a hysterectomy in January due to prolapse and need for A&P repair. Prior to surgery, my physician put me on 3 different hormones (patch, vagi all cream and progesterone). That was 5 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago caginal sonogram shows I have a small polyp and thickened endometrium ;no bleeding whatsoever). My doc now wants to do a biopsy. Is this necessary since I am having a hysterectomy anyway?
