Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 66 yrs old and was tested positive for Heb B in May 2018. I was told I am a carrier only. What does that mean? Am I safe from liver cancer? I have no way of knowing how I contracted this virus. No sex. No sharing of needles. I donated my O+ blood for over 20 years and never had a problem. Then upon my last donation I received a letter stating my blood tested for Hep B so I asked personal doctor to test me. He waited six months to test me and again a positive report . My doctor has told me for several years I had a fatty liver and a little elevated liver function. I have been treated for type two diabetes for past three years. Was this a result of these facts?
