I am 67 y/o. I weigh 250lbs, 5'5" tall, Widowed, living alone. Early stages of COPD, no meds. I can constantly feel my heart beating in my chest and hear pulses in my ears. I have reduced salt and fluid intake with no results. There is slight reduction with pursed lip breathing which rapidly returns once I stop. I often wake at 2a.m. feeling like my heat will pound out of my chest. No pain. Don't feel particularly anxious as a rule! I have no history of heart trouble, but haven't been to a doctor since 2010. Overall health has been good through the years.
