Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 71 years old. Several years ago I had a uretroplasty while in the U.K. I have suffered two or three urothrotamies following a 1963 prolonged catheteration that allowed crystal growth in the folly that would not allow deflation. Removal severely ripped the uretral walls, led to shut-down and required insertion of "graduated-sounds" to force the urethra open! Later, spontanious errections became painful and remained severely curved. The first urrothrotamy followed shortly!
The flow has never been great, even after urethroplasty! Prostrate has grown over years and I am on Tamsulosin but flow seems to be reduced. I had to perform self-cateterazation following removal of catheter after recent hip replacement surgery. The flow level has reduced considerably. What's the best way forward?
Is there a process available that would be similar to an angioplasty for the uretra, to gradually & gently stretch and expand the urethra?
