Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 8 weeks pregnant. two weeks ago at 6w6d the doctor gave me my first ultrasound and said he saw no fetal pole and the yolk sac and embryonic sac is smaller than anticipated, with no heartbeat detected then. He ruled I miscarried and I was devasted. he told me to come back 1 week later which was last week to see if it naturally miscarried, if not, he will induce me. so last week at 7w6d he said my sac grew from last week and he was able to detect a heartbeat at 100bpm and it was a miracle. I was so confused but yet hopeful. however he told me not to get my hopes up and told me if to see him this thursday. he told me my fetus is measuring about 2 weeks behind but it has a heartbeat. Have you seen these cases. Do you think my baby can keep growing strong. it doesn't necessarily mean its a chromosomal abnormality just because its small right. I am asian. could it be genetically we are smaller than caucasion standard? do we have hope. I am remaining hopeful as i believe in miracles and I know my baby hb is a miracle alone. Please help doctor
