I am a 20 year old female. I started taking Prozac at age 14. I have since switched to Ecitelopram. Can taking SRRIs during puberty lead to permanent sexual dysfunction? I remember masturbating before the medication and the frustration I felt after taking Prozac when it became harder and harder to climax until it became impossible. I still struggle with my sexuality immensely. I hit puberty early (first got my period at 12) but I now am concerned about the long term effects of my prolonged use of SSRIs. I am currently using 10 mg. Is there any hope I can one day have a healthy sex life? I don’t think I can function without them but I would love to know what sex is SUPPOSED to feel like.
