I am a 30 year old female and I have always been overweight. Roughly 10 years ago I went in to my Dr due to being sick with a cold or sinus infection (can't remember what exactly) and was told that on top of being sick I also had asthma. Dr didn't run any test for that just listened to my lungs and told me. I have been on inhalers and breathing treatments since then. The past 6 months or so my breathing has gotten a lot worse and inhalers quit working. (Was on Advair diskus for years and then was switched to Symbicort recently and that didn't help either) In July of this year I was diagnosed with dfsp on my left mid back region, it was removed and clear margins. I had an MRI for that which showed a cyst on my spleen. My symptoms for the past 3 months (getting worse with time) are right side chest pain, right arm pain/discomfort, cough (with occasional flem), wheezing, shortness of breath, and having trouble taking a deep breath. This happens daily and doesn't matter if I am laying down, sitting straight up, being active (such as just walking through the house or making the beds). I am doing 2-3 breathing treatments with Albuterol daily due to inhalers not helping. I have had an echo, chest x-ray, labs to check for PE, and PFTs. My Dr told me that everything is good and she will not order any further test, she has referred me to a pulmonologist, which I will eventually see when I can afford it. I have been told by someone that does cath labs that on my actual xray film my right diaphragm seem more elevated than it should be. My echo shows right ventricular enlargement with systolic pressure of 31mmHG, upper limits of normal diameter inferior vena cava, trace tricuspid insufficiency, trace mitral insufficiency, trace pulmonic insufficiency, and mild tachycardia. My PFT results are (and I have no clue how to interpret these) Pre Med: FVC VAR: 91ml, FEV1 VAR: 155ml, PEF VAR: 213.0L/M. Post med: FVC VAR: 73ml, FEV1 VAR: 152ml, PEF VAR: 71.3L/M. I have family history of lung cancer, bone cancer, breast cancer, skin cancer, ovarian cancer, brain tumor, COPD, PE, and AFib. Can someone help me? I do not know what is wrong and I am worried. My doctor says that all my test are normal, but I just keep getting worse. Could I have COPD or asthma (even though my Dr said PFT are normal so I have never had asthma), or could the right elevated hemidiaphragm be causing my problems?
