Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 35 year old meth user for over 10 years. I was diagnosed with SLE Lupus 5 years ago. For a while I was taking Rx meds in combination with smoking meth. I stopped smoking meth and was taking medications and that's when my flare ups got worse. My ankles swelled to the size of small melons and felt like they would crumble underneath me with every step I took. I was in so much pain I would sit on my bed and cry for half an hour because I knew how painful it would be to walk to bathroom that was 2 feet away from me. Finally I got the point where I stopped taking meds all together and self medicated with smoking meth. I know this cannot be good for me but I have not had a flare up in quite some time. I want to stop smoking meth but I am so afraid of the flare up. Please help.
