I am a 46 year old female with no history of seizures. Last Tuesday around 1:00am I had a series of three seizures. I went to the ER stayed the night and came home later that day. Thursday I had 2 seizures at home around 9:30pm and one after I got to the ER. I stayed in the hospital this time until Saturday. I barely remember anything that has happened in this last week. I can't remember things that happen during the day even. I have numerous health issues going on. I have Common Variable Immune Deficiency. I'm guessing based on my previous testing that my IgG levels are down around 400. I lost my job and insurance so I haven't been able to give my Hizentra infusions for almost 2 yrs because of my fall and now no insurance. I had surgery July 5, 2017 to remove hardware from an elbow because I developed a staph infection after 4 1/2 months of shattering my elbow. I have had this staph reoccur 3 times now. It was lanced once and I was given 3 weeks doxycycline. At the end of the 3 weeks it looked even bigger. So I called my surgeon that had done my 2nd and 3rd surgeries on my left arm after a my bad fall. I am allergic to Penicillin, Cephalosporins, Bactrim, and suspect either the doxycycline and/or clindamyacin. I developed all of these antibiotic allergies from being sick all my life and being over-exposed to them. My old surgeon who is phenomenal told me to be there the next day at 9am even with no insurance. He saw it and told me to be at the hospital the very next day for surgery. He opened it up cleaned it completely out again and then put antibiotic beads in it before stitching it up. I stayed two nights in the hospital. The 2nd day the culture started growing the staph. The day I left the hospital I met with a sales rep that told me the hospital was donating $42k worth of Cubicin antibiotic that I administer through a picc line they put in at the hospital before I left. I've had it in 2 weeks now. At the end of last week I think Friday I missed a call from one of the nurses. The girl that answered said that she was probably calling to check on how I feel. The girl said my white blood count was elevated. This makes no sense to be administering IV antibiotics and my WBC still going up. My levels of IgG may be even lower. Not for sure. Here is a list of medications I'm on and how long I've been on them. I have a lot of mental health issues. Seroquel 300mg at bedtime (taken for last 12 years), Lamictal 200mg 2xday for 12 yrs, Gabapentin 800mg 3 x day for 5 yrs, Prozac 40mg a day for 2 1/2 months (NEW), and another new one is Buspar for not even a month now.
All I know is my mental health is deteriorating very fast. My memory has been deteriorating over the last 2 yrs. Now I have had seizures this past week for the first time in my life. I've got to go to Huntsville Monday for a dressing change and labs. Wednesday will be my first appointment with the internal medicine doctor.
What is going on? Does anything jump out at you? They had no answers for my seizures.
