Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 50 year old female who has over the course of several weeks been experiencing large spikes in blood pressure. Yesterday was 170/102 pulse 98 and today it's 133/92. I have gone to my family physician who did an EKG on me two weeks ago and she said it came back with no significant findings. She felt I had large amounts of stress so prescribed Xanax to "chew on" for situational stress (basically 1/4 of a pill) I am also on Zoloft. This is all very new to me within the past three months. Prior I was never on any medicine at all. I also have a pain on my left side in one exact spot that comes and goes right over my heart. My face gets very very flushed and I feel dizzy. I am quite concerned and really don't know if I need an ER or an appointment with a cardiologist?
