Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 51 year old male born with dextro transposition of the great arteries. I had neither an atrial nor a ventricular septal defect. At 4 weeks of age, I had a Blalock-Hanlon septectomy. At the age of 2, a Mustard atrial switch. My tested exercise tolerance is excellent and my health is quite good in general. I am not on meds, nor do I need a pacemaker or an ICD. I have been told that I have had the best outcome for this procedure anywhere among the older "Mustard babies". My care is managed by one the top cardiologists specializing in adult CHD. I exercise daily. How much longer can I expect to live?
