Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 52 female who has just gone through both a FNA biopsy and core biopsy to determine whether my breast lump is a fibroadenoma or a phyllodes tumour. My surgeon said that the pathologist was unable to tell with certainty but historically fibroadenoma is more common. They said that with the lump being new (I have mammography every year), and my age, that I have the option of removal or another ultrasound and perhaps biopsy in 6 months. I am interested in comments from another doctor/surgeon.
