I Am A 52y/o Female And Have Battled With Chronic

I am a 52y/o female and have battled with chronic Epstein Barr since 2002. It has reactivated approx. 5 times in since then. Each time, I am extremely tired, fatigued, have swollen glands, headaches and low grade fever. I am a RN and have never let this stop me from working. Approximately 2 years ago, I became ill with what my family doctor diagnosed as Cat Scratch Fever but no labs were drawn to verify. I was placed on 2 rounds of antibiotics and after about a week of mostly sleeping, I felt better and returned to work. Approximately 2 weeks later, I began feeling extremely fatigued with a new onset of difficulty focusing and concentrating. I returned to my PCP and was placed on a tapering dose of Prednisone. As I came off the Prednisone, I basically "crashed." My adrenal glands and thyroid were affected. I was placed on hydrocortisone and Armour Thyroid. I have not felt well since all this began and I for the first time in my life, I am not working due to the severity of the fatigue. I have good days and bad days. On the good days, I feel as if I am 100% again and ready to go back to work but it never fails that I began feeling ill again. My focus and concentration are much better now but on the days of the extreme fatigue they are much more pronounced. I also have found that if I don't take high doses of Vitamin C, I feel very ill all of the time. I've been tested for many things and am at a stopping point at this time due to changes in my health insurance and fighting an insurance company for long term disability. I have been weaned off the hydrocortisone and my adrenal glands are fine now, except my cortisol is low in the am. Can you think of anything that stands out to you? The one thing I do know on my labs are that when I feel extremely ill, my ESR is high but when I don't feel bad, it is good and every test I've had done for anything recently, is good. I also find that I cannot at all tolerate any stress, which is very hard for me to accept. I have always been a fast paced, multi tasking person and now I am not at all. I have researched and researched and I am baffled. Is there really such as thing as Chronic Fatigue? and if so, do you think it is a problem with the immune system? Have you heard of or do you know of any current treatments or studies being done? I appreciate your time and if you need more information, please let me know. I have plenty! I would greatly appreciate any advise you may have.
