Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 58 year old female and have already gone through menopause. Recently I was put on cholesterol meds and within days of taking it I started having an ache where I would think my ovaries are. The doctor took me off for a few weeks and reduced the med's to half. After taking again for a few months the ache has came back. Now he is switching the meds but wanted me to not take anything for three weeks to see if the ache went away. So now that I am not taking that med. I still have the ache after 2 weeks. He said if it didn't go away we need to do an ultrasound. He is a primary care doc, and I think it would be best to go to the gynocolgest first? Any idea what this means and do you agree with better to go to gynocolgest for this issue?
