Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 61 year old Black female. My new Dr. is recommending tests I don't agree with. I have smoked for 40+ yrs. But do not suffer from cough or breathing problems. My oxygen saturation is 97% hemoglobin 15.2. Dr. wants to do a CT lung scan. I don't believe it is necessary and read it has been known to give false positives and false negatives. The other test I bone density test. I take 50,000 units once a month of Vit D & my blood test was 53 for Vit D & 10.1 for Calcium. Again I don't feel it is necessary for either tests, just yet. What is your option?
