I Am A 61 Year Old Male. I Have Been

I am a 61 year old male. I have been diagnosed with an ear infection. I was first prescribed Ciprodex which has successfully treated the condition in the past. After lab work arrived and confirmed that the infection was a result of Staph bacteria my PA switched the medication to Clindamycin oral capsules and external application of Clindamycin 1% gel. Are these two drugs a better treatment for the infection than the Ciprodex? All prescriptions are expensive. Just want to make sure I am not wasting money buying drugs that do not successfully treat the infection. Thanks!
