I Am A 66 Year Old Male Who Has Recently

I am a 66 year old male who has recently retired. 5 years ago I had cervical fusion C6,C7 and T1. I had L4 herniated and surgery in 1985. In 2000 an MRI showed L3 herniation but I declined surgery due to the need of fusion. I endured physical therapy in 2014 for neck related pain with my surgeon stating I could perform normal activities. Recently I saw a surgeon for mid back pain and endured 5 weeks of physical therapy which caused the mid back pain to diminish but my neck pain returned as well as a burning sensation at the base of the spine radiating toward my left buttock as well as sciatic pain in the same area. I am currently mid way through taking Prednisone anticipating an MRI of my neck and spine. My question is what can be done for a situation like this at this point in life. I do not want more surgery if it requires more fusion. I have recently finished 1 prescription of Meloxicam and have another script I am to resume as soon as I have completed the steroids. Meloxicam did not provide any relief so far.
