Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 72 year old healthy athletic male. I was an avid runner for over 25 years [completing 27 marathons including five Boston Marathons]. I still exercise extensively [five days a week]. About 2 years ago I noticed a significant deterioration in my movement [unable to run or play tennis]. I finally brought it to the attention of my doctor who ordered x-rays. The diagnosis was that I had osteoarthritis in my right hip. I consulted with two orthopedic surgeons who suggested hip replacement. I do not want to undergo surgery so I opted for self treatment. Attempting to get my hips in alignment, strengthen them and increase flexibility in my hips. Is stem cell treatment an option that I should consider?
