Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 78 year old female suffering from anxiety and depression! I take 5mg of zanax prn and Wellbutrin 300 HL daily! My counselor says I am either not on enough Wellbutrin or I am on the wrong drug. Just to give you a back ground -I am a 20 hr BC survivor with BRCA 2 mutation! Now my 48year old son has stage 4 prostate cancer as well as the BRCA 2 - (has two boys aged 9and 12!). My son is also disabled (lost his left arm in car wreck at age 19; 10 operations over 2 years left him with dangling appendage!). Then at 40; he was diagnosed with dominate optic atrophy and is losing his sight - as a graphic designer he had to retire on disability! Now this - stage 4prostate cancer with Gleason 9 on aggressiveness score! Also in a bad marriage! He is having to deal with all this crap - I try to be supportive but blame myself for not having him tested at 40 for BRCA There are other thing... I am trying to cope and stay on my feet. I found that some people take Wellbutrin and Zoloft in combination. Reports are they “Feel better than they ever have.” Would I be a candidate for combination drugs such as these?
